True to its name, Tranquillity on the Beach is a place for relaxing into the calm ambiance of an exquisite home on a beautiful beachfront site ~ while being gently pampered by a competent staff.

The well-appointed rooms of Tranquillity stretch over 6,300 square feet of rich marble floors. Artful landscaping ensures year-round flowers in bloom which in turn ensures regular visits from hummingbirds and parrots. The grounds resemble a private park dotted with mango, guava, banana, plantain, lime, soursop, apple, and papaya trees.
The entrance draws you past an indoor waterfall garden as you approach the spacious Great Room which opens to an 86' furnished verandah. Meals are served by the butler on the verandah overlooking two acres of landscaped grounds and the sea ~ or served in the inside formal dining room ~ or, as a special treat, served in the romantic waterfront gazebo by candlelight. On calm nights, two or three local fishermen may ease through the water beyond the gazebo carrying torches and laying nets for the fresh catch they will deliver to your chef the next morning. The overall ambiance is quite beautiful.
Two large master suites are privately located in a wing on the east end of the villa. Two smaller bedrooms are beyond the living room on the west end of the villa. The fifth, sixth & seventh bedrooms are in the Beach Cottage across the lawn on the water’s edge. All bedrooms are air-conditioned. The state-of-the-art kitchen in the main house includes a 6-burner Vulcan gas stove, microwave, and double fridge with an ice maker.
Meals here merit special attention. Chef Danny has extensive experience in a number of cuisines including Italian, Spanish and Jamaican. He received his formal training in Italy and has been Head Chef at several of Montego Bay's better restaurants. Danny's experience and creativity, as well as his willingness to create menus to suit special requests, make the culinary part of everyone’s stay at Tranquillity something to savor. A formal herb garden is steps from the kitchen and provides the Chef with fresh herbs and vegetables for your meals. His fresh kale and spinach soup can be a healthy and delicious way to start one of your dinners.
Tranquillity shares a basketball hoop and private tennis court with neighboring Serenity on the Beach (bring racquets and balls). Combining Serenity and Tranquillity creates an 11-bedroom compound with 2 pools, a tennis court, a long beachfront, and a staff of 10. Beyond Tranquility is our glamorous neighbor, Noble House on the Beach, which accommodates 8 or 10 more guests. This 8-acre beachfront compound is a favorite for weddings and family reunions. All 3 villas are child friendly and very private from each other.
Paddle boards and sea kayaks are among the complimentary water sports available. 100 yards offshore is Holden's Reef, a continuation of the barrier reef complex that fronts much of Jamaica's north coast. Easily reachable by kayak, this live reef is home to a myriad of tropical fish and corals. At low tide, portions protrude above the water so you can step from your kayak to snorkel in shallow water. On the ocean side, deeper waters beckon the more adventurous or scuba equipped.
If you’ve left your pets behind, be advised that Tranquillity is home to a friendly dog named Gus. He is not permitted in the house or on the verandah, his accommodations are an on-site kennel area. But Gus does spend days in the yard and on the beach, and the staff cares for him. He is gentle, well-behaved, and loves guests if you want to interact with him.

Master Bedroom 1
King size 4-poster bed. Flat-screen cable television. 4 pairs of mahogany French doors to the verandah. The modern en-suite bathroom features a handsome gray and tan tile open shower with twin rainforest shower jets. Just steps from the pool.
Master Bedroom 2
King-size bed in a high-ceilinged 400-square-foot suite with flat-screen cable television. The en-suite bathroom has a bathtub plus a separate walk-in shower. French doors open to a private furnished verandah. 3 steps down and path to the pool, gazebo, and beach.
Bedroom 3
Optional king-size or twin beds. en-suite bathroom with double vanity, walk-in shower, and wonderful second very private shower in the outdoor walled garden. French doors open from the bedroom to the verandah.
Bedroom 4
King-size bed, en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. French doors to private patio, grounds, and tennis court.
Beach Cottage
Bedrooms 5 & 6
Designed as the owners’ private quarters, this is an exquisite 2-story cottage right next to the sea. Downstairs is the living room with cable television, VCR, and sound system, a small extra bedroom with a queen-size bed, a hall bathroom, and a walk-in shower. The lower level opens to a private terrace on the edge of the beach where meals are served if only the Beach Cottage is occupied. (If more than two guests are in residence, all meals are served on the main house verandah, although eye-opener coffee and fruit may be served at the Beach Cottage.) Upstairs are the king-size bedroom, over-the-beach balcony with lounges for sunning or star-gazing, and a large en-suite marble bath with an oversized walk-in shower.
Bedroom 7
Bedroom 7 with bunk beds for 2 children. The bedroom is upstairs with an entrance from the master bedroom, that shares the master bathroom. This will provide another convenient parent-child suite.
Additional Information
Please note: Tranquillity is located on a beautiful stretch of beach however the beach may encounter increased seaweed or reduced water clarity during the rainy seasons in May and October, as well as due to fluctuating ocean currents and weather patterns.
The homeowner of Tranquillity does not permit weddings or any other hospitality events. Group dinners are allowed with sister villas Serenity and Noble House.

The thought and work that Danny put in to preparing our meals, looking after the finicky eaters and always preparing something for everybody to eat, looking after the little children, cooking a special meal for our celebration night and a special cake, juicing oranges for breakfast, and all the other special dishes he prepared, etc, etc, etc. All this was noticed and really appreciated.
The care with which Leaford set the table for each meal coordinating the table cloths with the crockery and adding the special touches of fresh flowers and candles, etc, etc made us all feel as though we were special people. Thank you Leaford for all the washing up we didn’t have to do.
Thank you to all the ladies, Brigitte, Judith and Zelda who cleaned each day and did all our washing such that we even went home with clean clothes in our cases. This meant that we could relax and enjoy our entire 2 weeks.
Thank you to the gardeners, Owen and Char who racked the garden and even the weeds off the beach each day and again just before our photos were taken. Also Barnaby and Lloyd for watching over us.
Please also thank Chris our driver who was a font of knowledge and took us willingly in several directions on many occasions.
Our special celebration was even more special because of the staff at the beautiful Tranquillity Villa.

The staff was sensational and they really had their work cut out for them with 4 young children dining at different times than the adults and toys and water bottles strewn everywhere. Chef Danny was so accommodating and our Chef Mike loved tasting his Jamaican specialties. Leaford was amazing, on top of virtually everything! Judith and Bridget thrilled us doing our laundry and keeping our rooms clean and orderly, no easy task with this group. We really had a ball.

Chef Danny and Mr. Leeford were stars of the show but the rest of the staff shined brightly as well. This was our first time booking a villa. Best decision ever! The villa was spotless and was so warm and welcoming. The staff greeted us and immediately made us feel at home. The grounds were meticulous! We took full advantage of the tennis/basketball court, paddle boards and kayaks the villa had to offer. Meals were scrumptious and the table always set beautifully. Get the french toast for breakfast...so good! The guys raided the kitchen at night and finished off any dessert that we hadn't finished at dinner. The staff took very good care of us and were always there but also gave us the space to feel by ourselves.
Wonderful experience! No more hotel/resort vacations for us. Thank you Leeford, Chef Danny, Judith, Bridgette, Zelda, Owen, Charlton and Gus your kindness was appreciated!!

The staff was sensational and they really had their work cut out for them with 4 young children dining at different times than the adults and toys and water bottles strewn everywhere. Chef Danny was so accommodating and our Chef Mike loved tasting his Jamaican specialties. Leaford was amazing, on top of virtually everything! Judith and Bridget thrilled us doing our laundry and keeping our rooms clean and orderly, no easy task with this group. We really had a ball.
Thanks for supplying the extra pails, beach toys and pool noodles. We were all delighted with our stay!
